Purpose: Provide clear answers to the most common questions families, staff, volunteers, and partners may have regarding Ivy Hill ceasing operations.

Lessons and Programs

Q: When will Ivy Hill officially cease operations?
A: Ivy Hill will discontinue all therapeutic riding lessons and programs effective March 1, 2026.

Q: What happens to my scheduled lessons?
A: Lessons will continue until the final week of February.

Q: Can I transfer my lessons to another facility?
A: While Ivy Hill cannot transfer lessons directly, we will provide a list of recommended nearby therapeutic riding programs and assist families in connecting with them.

Billing and Refunds

Q: Will I receive a refund for pre-paid lessons?
A: Refunds will be processed on a case-by-case basis. Families should contact the office directly to review their account.

Q: How will cancellations or “paused” lessons be handled?
A: Lessons marked as cancelled with proper notice or paused will be reviewed individually, and adjustments will be made for billing if applicable.

Volunteers and Staff

Q: How will volunteers be recognized for their service?
A: Ivy Hill will provide personalized letters of recognition, and volunteers will be invited to final appreciation events.

Q: What support is available for staff leaving Ivy Hill?
A: Staff will receive guidance on final payroll, references, and any benefits. One-on-one meetings will be scheduled to answer questions and provide support during the transition.

Horses and Facility

Q: What will happen to the horses?
A: All horses will be responsibly re-homed.  Re-homing agreements and checklists will ensure proper care and legal protection.

Q: Can families visit or say goodbye to the horses?
A: Yes, arrangements will be made for families and volunteers to visit and participate in final sessions with the horses before March 1, 2026.
